KDC Kitchen & Bath Gallery – Design-Build Remodeling Since 1990
KDC Kitchen & Bath Gallery was founded in 1990 by Tom McQueen with a simple idea: build a customer-focused remodeling firm that actually makes the process easier on homeowners, not harder.
We started as KDC Kitchen Design Center in Pleasanton, then updated our name to KDC Kitchen & Bath Gallery for a fresh new look. While we still proudly serve Pleasanton and the surrounding Tri-Valley, we moved our showroom to Danville in 2010, where you’ll find us today.
From design to product selection through installation, our team works with you to create a kitchen or bath that is uniquely yours and makes sense for the way you live.

Why a Design-Build Firm (and why it matters to you)
Most people don’t search for the phrase “design-build.” They just know a kitchen or bath remodel feels daunting and they don’t want it to go off the rails.
These are the questions we hear all the time:

-
Who do I hire and trust to do the remodel?
-
Do I have to hire separate subs and basically be my own general contractor?
-
What happens if no one shows up?
-
How do I get permits?
-
How do I choose materials and fixtures and know I’m not making a mistake?
-
Is this in style or just a trend that will be out in a few years?
-
How do I get quality without overspending?
Our answer to all of that is our design-build model.
Design-build is a straightforward idea:
You hire one team to design your project and build your project.
We take responsibility for the process so you don’t have to.
We handle plans, permits, product selections, scheduling, and the day-to-day coordination with trades. Your job is to tell us what you want, how you live, and what you’re comfortable investing. Our job is to guide you to good decisions and get the work done with as few surprises as possible.
We Coordinate Every Last Detail
It’s stressful enough to remodel a section of your home. Our goal is to take as much of that stress off your plate as we can.
As a full design + build service:

-
You’re not juggling multiple contractors.
-
You’re not trying to line up the plumber, electrician, and tile installer yourself.
-
You’re not guessing your way through permits and inspections.
Our in-house team covers every detail down to the last knob. We provide the professional help and security of knowing your remodel is done to a high standard, by people who do this every day and stand behind their work.

With decades of experience in the Tri-Valley, our staff knows the homes, the styles, the local requirements, and the common pitfalls—and how to avoid them. The result is a seamless, worry-reduced remodel you’ll be proud to show off.

From Cabinets-Only to Full Remodels
Every homeowner and every project is different. Sometimes you need a full gut and re-layout; other times you just need new cabinets and surfaces.

-
If you’re looking to purchase cabinets only, we can help you choose the right line, layout, and details.
-
If you’re ready to redesign your entire space, one of our designers will walk you through layout, storage, lighting, and materials so the room works for your day-to-day life.

Instead of handing you a flat blueprint and asking you to “just imagine it,” we use 3-D modeling so you can see your new kitchen or bath before we start. That makes it easier to make changes on screen instead of in the middle of construction.
We aim for what we call attainable luxury: quality design and materials that feel special, without pushing you into unnecessary upgrades.
How We Work (In Plain English)
-
Talk
We start with a call or a showroom visit to understand your goals, timeline, and budget.
-
See the Space
We come to your home, look at the existing layout, and confirm what’s realistic.
-
Design & Select
We create a plan, help you pick materials and fixtures, and show you the space in 3D.
-
Plan & Permit
We finalize scope and cost, pull permits, and map out the schedule.
-
Build
Our team manages trades, inspections, and all the moving parts until the job is complete.
Walkthrough & Wrap-Up
We walk the project with you, handle the punch list, and review how to care for your new space.
